This Privacy Policy explains how AfraMedTech, a division of Afra Virtual Medical Tourism Inc. (“AfraMedTech”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information through www.aframedtech.com (the “Website”) and related communications. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable laws.
1. Who We Serve
The Website is intended for businesses and institutions — hospitals, clinics, distributors, government bodies, non-governmental organizations, contractors and medical-device manufacturers. It is not directed at individual consumers or at persons under 18 years of age.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us, for example when you submit a request for quotation (RFQ), a contact form or a manufacturer partnership enquiry, or when you contact us by email or WhatsApp:
- name, job title, organization and country;
- business email address and telephone / WhatsApp number;
- details of your enquiry, such as products, quantities, specifications, tender references, delivery timelines and preferred shipping terms;
- for manufacturers: company details, product lines and current export markets.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and date/time) for security and operation of the Website.
Information stored on your device. Your RFQ basket and form drafts are saved in your own browser’s local storage so they are not lost while you browse. This information stays on your device until you submit a request or clear your browser data.
Cookies and analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the Website — for example, pages viewed, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, and how visitors arrived at the Website. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies, and the information it collects may be processed by Google in the United States and other countries. We do not use this information to identify you personally, and we do not use advertising or remarketing cookies. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For more information, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Third-party content. Some pages load fonts (Google Fonts) and images from third-party servers, including manufacturers’ websites and image libraries. When your browser loads this content, those providers may receive technical information such as your IP address, under their own privacy policies.
3. How We Use Your Information
- to respond to your enquiries and prepare quotations, technical documentation and proposals;
- to identify suitable Canadian manufacturers and coordinate supply, logistics, insurance, installation and after-sales support;
- to manage our business relationship with you, including follow-up communications about your request;
- to evaluate distribution and manufacturer partnership opportunities;
- to meet legal and regulatory obligations, including export controls, sanctions screening, customs, tax and record-keeping requirements;
- to protect the security of the Website and prevent fraud or misuse.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to the reasons for which it was collected without your consent, unless required or permitted by law.
4. Consent
By submitting a form or contacting us, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your information as described in this Policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us (see Section 11). Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to respond to your request.
5. When We Share Information
We share personal information only as needed to fulfil your request or to operate our business, with:
- Canadian manufacturers whose products you have enquired about, to obtain pricing, availability and technical information;
- service providers acting on our behalf, such as freight forwarders, customs brokers, insurers, banks, regulatory agents, website hosting, email and analytics providers (including Google Analytics), and messaging services (including WhatsApp);
- our affiliated business within Afra Virtual Medical Tourism Inc., including AfraMedico, where relevant to your request;
- authorities, where required by law, regulation or legal process.
We require service providers to protect personal information and to use it only for the services they provide to us.
6. International Transfers
We are based in Canada and serve clients internationally. Your information may be stored or processed in Canada, the United States (for example, by our hosting and email providers) and other countries where our partners operate. In those countries, it may be subject to local laws, including lawful access by authorities.
7. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including any period required by tax, export, contractual or other legal record-keeping obligations. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.
8. Security
We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please avoid sending highly sensitive information through web forms.
9. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or withdraw your consent. We will respond within the time required by law. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
